Intro to Tai Chi for Women’s Health

Tai chi is an ancient Chinese martial art based on the philosophy that soft, yielding power can overcome hard, rigid power. Shirley Chock will explain why this ancient art is so well suited to help today’s working women manage their stressful lives. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for a gentle workout and meditation session. Kroon South Courtyard is located between Kroon Hall and Osbourne Memorial Library.

Shirley Chock is the Director of Finance Training and Development in Yale’s Office of Financial Planning and Analysis. She has studied tai chi under Grandmaster Aiping Cheng since 2001 and is Assistant Director at the Aiping Tai Chi Center in Orange, CT. She is the former women’s U.S. National Internal Martial Arts Champion.
