This presentation will define and explain the range of eating disorders. Ilene V. Fishman will provide information about how to identify signs and symptoms and explain how to help an individual experiencing food, weight, and eating issues.

Ilene V. Fishman, LCSW, ACSW, is a private practice psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders for 33 years. She is a founding member and continuing board member of the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA). NEDA is widely recognized as the foremost authority and resource for both families and practitioners. A graduate of the NYU School of Social Work, Fishman trained and later worked at the Center for Anorexia Bulimia Association (AABA). Fishman is a clinical advisor of the NEDA Navigator Program, Loss support Network, and National Eating Disorders Helpline. As an adjunct professor at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University, she taught the first master’s level eating disorder course in New York City.
