Event description: 

This group is meant to support parents in advocating for their child with special needs within the school system. Participants will share and learn from each other and the group facilitator about effective strategies for collaborating with teachers and school teams, navigating the special education process, and helping their children be successful in school. Group will be facilitated by Brianna Lewis, Ph.D., Assistant Clinical Professor with the Yale Child Study Center. Light refreshments will be provided. To RSVP, click here

Brianna Lewis, Ph.D., is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale Child Study Center. She earned a master’s degree in education from Harvard University prior to pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology from Fordham University. She is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults within the Developmental Disabilities Clinic and on multiple federally-funded research studies within the Autism Program at the Yale Child Study Center. She is a clinical faculty member within the Psychology section providing clinical training for the child psychology and child psychiatry fellowship training programs. She serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, and is a member of the International Society for Autism Research and the American Psychological Association.
