Event Recap - Brown Bag Lunch Discussion: “I want it all”

June 8, 2017

The June Yale Family Network Brown Bag Lunch featuring Matthew Paterna, D.C. and Jonathan Hryb, D.C. was full of laughter and learning.  Paterna and Hryb explained the three causes of stress and realistic strategies to proactively counter different stressors.

The three stress threats discussed were toxins, thoughts, and trauma. The diverse audience agreed they experienced all of these stressors daily. The strategies for combatting toxin stress included eating whole foods and conducting short fasts to allow the body to cleanse itself. To counter the stressful effects of negative thoughts cutting out media, TV news, and bad people rounded out the advice. Finally, to fight trauma: meditation, yoga, exercise, and setting goals were all suggested.

Paterna and Hryb are doctors of chiropractic in private practice in West Haven and New Haven and volunteered their time with the Yale Family Network.
