Event Recap - Get in Touch with Breast Health- For Life!

October 19, 2016

On Oct 19th, Betsy Nilan, President of the Get in Touch Foundation, lead a conversation about breast health advocacy and education for girls, women and people of all ages on the how to get in touch with their bodies.

Betsy shared GIT’s inspiring story from its grassroots in Milford, CT to its global reach. Her late mother, Mary Ann Wasil, founded The Get In Touch Foundation to teach her two daughters about the importance of, and how to do a breast self-exam - for life. 12 years later, the organization serves girls in all 50 states and 34 countries.

Participants took home GIT’s signature educational tool, the Daisy Wheel, which is an innovative teaching tool developed in collaboration with a medical consulting board along with input from girls ages 8-18. Betsy taught participants how to use it and discussed how parents/adults can approach the topic of breast health with their girls.
