Event Recap - Yale’s First Private School Information Fair

October 31, 2016

Yale’s first Private School Information Fair, held Friday, Oct. 21, sponsored by the Yale Worklife Program, Working Women’s Network and Working Family Network helped parents make contacts and research educational options for their children.

The event happened Friday, Oct 21 at Kroon Hall. The open and relaxed atmosphere in the space lent itself to the fun fact-finding event.

Representatives from 23 schools were present to assist Yale parents in finding information about local private schools ranging from pre-K and Kindergarten through grade 12. The schools in attendance ran the gamut from private preparatory institutions to a variety of religious based schools, to Montessori and progressive educational options.

Parents of enrolled students showed up to help staff some of the booths—offering a first-hand perspective about how specific schools’ requirements interacted with work-life.

Members of the Yale community were able to sign up for open houses, gather useful literature, and begin to investigate private school options for their school-aged children.

A resource page has been set up with the contact information and links for each school in attendance.
