Working Women’s Network (WWN) Mentoring Program Kickoff Session

WWN Mentoring Program Kickoff Session
October 7, 2015

The WWN Mentorship Program had its inaugural kick-off session on Friday, October 2, 2015. Mentees and their mentors had an opportunity to finally meet in a fun, interactive and well-guided session led by Deborah Stanley-McAulay, Chief Diversity Officer, Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

The WWN Mentoring Program is a developmental partnership through which one person shares knowledge, skills, information and perspective to foster the personal and professional growth of another.

The getting-to-know-you session covered topics such as setting ground rules for the year-long relationship, building communication, understanding the mentee/mentor roles. Mentors and mentees represented a wide cross section of campus and across several genres e.g. faculty, management & professional, clerical & technical, dining services. This year’s mentoring program boasts 100 confirmed participants (50 pairs).

The program will continue with three cohort workshops throughout the year followed by an end of program celebration. The committee is grateful to those who have joined with them to make the kickoff session a huge success!
