Event description:

Eraina Ferguson MAR ‘10 discusses how she raised her special needs daughter while completing three academic degrees, including one from Yale.

After giving birth to her daughter Taylor at the age of 20, Eraina decided she would live a good life despite her circumstances. Even after receiving a diagnosis of profound hearing loss and autism for her daughter Taylor, she went on to earn three academic degrees including one from Yale University. In the process of living in three different cities and navigating education and personal hurdles, she discovered something profound and universal: this isn’t a normal life, it’s a good life. My Good Life is the story of perseverance, faith, and hope. It is a story wrapped in goodness and love. Her book is available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble online.

This event is part of the Yale University Disability Awareness Month programming, and is sponsored by DiversAbility at Yale, Working Women’s Network, and Yale African American Affinity Group.
