Event Recap - Intro to Tai Chi for Women’s Health

On June 27th, Shirley Chock introduced the ancient Chinese martial art Tai chi and its philosophy that soft, yielding power can overcome hard, rigid power. Shirley performed a demonstration and explained why this ancient art is so well suited to help today’s working women manage their stressful lives. She guided the participants through a series of gentle tai chi movements while explaining how tai chi can improve:

  • Our ability to manage and defuse stress
  • Our bodies’ ability to boost our immune system
  • Our mind’s ability to focus
  • Our ability to perceive and adapt to changes in our environment
  • Our exercise strategy so we exercise smarter and get healthier
