The Working Women’s Network Health & Wellness Series hosted the talk, Demystifying Vegan: Theme nights on Monday, January 27. Rebecca Purcell, Registered Dietician Nutritionist, and Certified Nutritionist along with Registered Dietician, Alisa Scherban engaged participants in an educational discussion that defined veganism, vegan sources of protein, the vegan meal plate as well as how vegans obtain key sources of nutrition on a whole-food, plant-based diet.
Ms. Purcell and Ms. Scherban provided a myriad of helpful tips to take the guesswork out of creating vegan meals. Some of these tips included, shop for groceries after a satisfying meal, use a grocery list to stay on target, organize cooking space with tools, gadgets, and utensils before cooking begins, and finally, involve loved ones in creating theme night menus to explore and enjoy delicious vegan meals!
