April 22, 2021
On Thursday, April 22, the Working Women’s Network hosted the 5th Annual Recognition Award Ceremony. Over 100 attendees from different parts of the country joined as we honored Diane Frankel-Gramelis (Trailblazer), Chevelle Irvin (Heroine), Pilar Abuin (Visionary), Morag Grassie (Innovator/Creator), Danielle Shapiro (Work Life Champion), and Kathleen Castellon (Community Catalyst) for their amazing contributions to the University.  These women have exemplified perserverance, innovation, and self-less leadership in a time of change and uncertainty. There wasn’t a dry eye in the virtual house.

The WWN Recognition Award is an annual event that recognizes women from the Yale University community for their dedication to support working women, the University, and their colleagues.  To date, we have received 318 nominations and have awarded 18 women from all of our staff job categories!

Every year, the WWN sends out a request for nominations and we will continue to do so for the upcoming 2022 fiscal year. If you know of a woman you feel should be considered don’t hesitate to nominate her this fall!
