Join us for this virtual discussion with Margo Okazawa-Rey—educator, writer, and social justice activist—who will be discussing the importance of and steps to building feminist solidarities to resist gendered, racialized, classed violence, militarism, and conflict in the U.S. and across the world. A founding member of the Combahee River Collective and well known for her transnational feminist advocacy, Prof. Okazawa-Rey has long-standing activist commitments in South Korea and Palestine, working closely with Du Re Bang/My Sisters Place and the Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counseling, respectively. She is also a founding member of the International Women’s Network against Militarism and Women for Genuine Security and recently retired from the academy, in which she served as the Barbara Lee Distinguished Chair in Women’s Leadership and Visiting Professor of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Public Policy at Mills College in Oakland, California.
