The Second Annual Lip Sync Battle hosted by WWN, LGBTQ and FLY took place on November 15, at Brother Jimmy’s restaurant in Downtown New Haven. The event was momentous and Sparkle A. Diamond was the special guest MC. There was a litany of amazing performers, and the attendees which included many from Yale (and some non-Yale) had a great time.
WWN Co-chair, Nandi Cummings and Officer Becky Fowler won “Best Overall” for their LSB performance to Like a Prayer (Madonna)/Lady Marmalade (Pink, Lil Kim, Christina Aguilera and Mya). The event ended with a small dance routine by most (if not all guests) to Whitney Houston’s “Dance with Somebody” in which the performer Ayesha was winner of “Best Group.”
We would like to thank everyone that came out after work on a Friday evening along with the LSB judges Deborah Stanley-McAulay, Marinda Monfilston and Andrew Dowe. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Brother Jimmy’s management and staff who took on an unexpected event at the last minute.
Next year’s battle will be bigger and more FABULOUS!!!!
