On May 8th, Shirley Chock introduced the ancient Chinese martial art Tai chi and its philosophy that soft, yielding power can overcome hard, rigid power. Shirley performed a demonstration and explained why this ancient art is so well suited to help today’s working women manage their stressful lives. She guided the participants through a series of gentle tai chi movements while explaining how tai chi can improve:

- Our bodies’ ability to our boost immune system
- Our mind’s ability to focus
- Our ability to perceive and adapt to changes in our environment
- Our exercise strategy so we exercise smarter and get healthier
