Event Recap - WWN Women’s Hockey Night

In honor of National Girls & Women in Sports Day, WWN gave  away 60 tickets to watch the Yale women take on Quinnipiac on February 8.  

The Bulldogs and the Bobcats entered play on February 8 tied for eighth in the ECAC Hockey standings, and they left Ingalls Rink tied following a 2-2 OT draw. Junior goaltender Tera Hofmann kept Yale in the game, making 34 saves and recording an assist.

Trailing 1-0 with just 18 seconds left in the first, senior captain Emma Vlasic found open ice, converting a fastbreak goal to knot the score before time expired. Vlasic was set up by first-year defenseman Tabea Botthof and Hofmann from the other end.

After Quinnipiac found the net 1:39 into the second period, pushing the score 2-1, sophomore forward Rebecca Foggia netted her third goal in four games to tie the game once again. Foggia converted in front of the net off a Claire Dalton assist, Dalton’s 10th helper of her rookie campaign.

Hofmann notched her third-consecutive, 30-save game against the Bobcats. Her save percentage improved to .921.
