“Art gives us visions into the future, and music makes us feel where we want to go. It is often artists or musicians who help us to feel that which we have not learned how to say. It is really art that shows us the way.”
Civil Rights icon Angela Davis addressed a capacity crowd in Woolsey Hall on January 16, 2020, kicking off Yale’s weeklong commemoration of the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Following remarks entitled “People Get Ready,” Davis sat down for a public conversation about art with Yale professor Crystal Feimster.
