The Working Women’s Network Social Justice Subcommittee (WWN-SJS) is committed to uplifting and supporting the almost 7,000 women and all Yale employees. While we know societal injustices exist not only in the broader society, we know they also exist within the workplace. It is here that we have the opportunity to strive for something better, supporting efforts to improve the work lives of all within the Yale community.
Inclusion, Education, and Understanding
The WWN-SJS supports everyone who wants to build a more inclusive and accessible Yale community through education and learning how to better understand and appreciate our differences. Some ways in which we will do this include:
- Giving everyone in the Yale Community an opportunity to “Share Your Truth”
- Curating programming that includes a variety of women’s voices.
- Curating intersectional allyship with other Employee Resource Groups (ERG) so that we can amplify all our voices.
- Offering more programming and resources to educate our community on the ways in which women – locally, across our nation, and all over this world – are disproportionately and negatively impacted.
- Providing platforms with the psychological safety needed to support conversations in which participants are able to share their issues and concerns, and then collaborate on ways of moving forward.
Share Your Truth
The Working Women’s Network Social Justice Subcommittee (WWN-SJS) wants to empower members of the Yale community to be the change we seek here and elsewhere.
Below, we have created a virtual wall as a space where we can celebrate your journey of healing, resiliency, and awakening to various forms of social injustice.
As you contemplate who you are, what you are feeling in the moment, and the ways in which you are stirred by what you see and hear, we invite you to make your voice heard.
